These terms govern your use of clovalegal.com ("the site"), operated by Growpress Ltd (Company No. 08841641), trading as Clova Legal. Our registered address is 7 Finkle Street, Thirsk, England, YO7 1DA.

By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

The service

Clova Legal is a UK solicitor directory. We help people find solicitors by specialty and location. The site includes both free listings and paid member profiles.

The information on this site is for general reference only and does not constitute legal advice. A listing on Clova Legal is not an endorsement or recommendation of any solicitor or firm.

You should always carry out your own due diligence before instructing a solicitor. If you need to verify a solicitor's regulatory standing, check with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Free listings

We compile basic solicitor profiles from publicly available sources, including the SRA register and law firm websites. These free listings typically include a solicitor's name, firm, and location.

If you are a solicitor and would like your free listing removed, contact us at customerservice@clovalegal.co.uk. We will remove it promptly, free of charge, and with no conditions attached. Your profile is not held to ransom — it's your data and your choice.

Accounts and subscriptions

Solicitors can create a paid account to claim and enhance their profile. A subscription costs £180 per year, billed annually via Stripe.

When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Keep your account details up to date
• Not share your login credentials with anyone else

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. When you cancel, you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your profile reverts to a basic free listing with your data preserved.

Refunds

All subscription payments are final. Refunds are only issued in cases of billing error on our part.

User content

Paid members can add content to their profiles, including biographies, photographs, contact details, and descriptions of their legal specialties ("user content").

You are responsible for ensuring that your user content:

• Is accurate and not misleading
• Does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property or other rights
• Complies with the SRA Standards and Regulations regarding publicity
• Does not contain anything unlawful, harmful, or offensive

By submitting user content, you grant us a licence to display it on Clova Legal for the purpose of operating the directory. We may remove content that violates these terms.

Intellectual property

The site's design, branding, code, and original content are owned by Growpress Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the site without our written permission.

You may not use automated tools (scrapers, bots, or similar) to extract data from the site.

Acceptable use

When using the site, you agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its systems
• Use the site to transmit harmful code, spam, or unsolicited communications
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organisation
• Use the site for any unlawful purpose

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Growpress Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, or from any information, content, or services provided through the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
